This latest chapter completes the history of what is one of the city’s most significant buildings and involves redeveloping the three spaces on the ground floor from a contemporary, pragmatic and functional perspective whilst at the same time taking advantage of the multiple ambiances that the venue reflects. The Casino’s cultural programme, along with the new cafeteria, is guaranteed to make the venture a success. The ground floor of the Casino, with its two entrances, will become an easily accessible public space providing an open platform that will hopefully appeal to members of the public who are not necessarily attending exhibitions. The forum, meanwhile, will become a pivot point for encouraging people to come together and introducing the public to contemporary art.
